Questions About Booking
Is the initial consultation free?
Yes. The 15-minute initial consultation by phone or video is free. If your matter calls for a longer consultation, we’ll tell you what it involves and what it costs before you decide to book it.
What happens after I book?
You get an email confirming the date and time, with the meeting details and a link to reschedule or cancel. Before the call we check the names you give us for conflicts of interest.
Why do you ask for my spouse’s or the other party’s name?
Lawyers must check for conflicts of interest before discussing a matter with a prospective client. We check the name against our records before we speak, so that we can tell you promptly if a conflict prevents us from helping.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Yes. Use the link in your confirmation email, or call (718) 975-1123.
Does booking a consultation make me a client?
No. Booking a consultation does not create an attorney–client relationship. The firm takes on a matter only after confirming there is no conflict of interest and a written retainer agreement is signed. What you tell us as a prospective client is kept confidential.
What should I have ready?
A short summary of your situation, any court dates or deadlines, and any papers you have received, such as a summons, a petition or an existing agreement. For a prenup, postnup or uncontested divorce, you can also start the online intake before we speak.
